The moving type of guy

Encore un déménagement en vue. Et les cartons à refaire.

So once again I'm about to move to a new place. And there are boxes
ahead...

Déjà la deuxième fois cette année. J'ai même pas eu le temps de déballer tous les cartons du précédent déménagement.

The second time this year. I didn't even have time to unpack what stuff I
kept after I last moved.

J'aurais mieux fait de m'acheter une roulotte.

I 'd better have bought a caravan.

Encore de la vaisselle qui va se casser.

And once again we'll break dishes.

Et des bouquins qui vont se perdre.

And some books will get lost.

Encore une adresse à retenir. Et des nouveaux voisins. Encore que le voisin soit universel.

Once again I'll have to learn a new address. And meet new neighbours. Even
if the neighbour is unique.

Quand on a vu un voisin, on les a tous vus. Le voisin est l'ennemi. Toujours.

You know a neighbour, you know them all. The neighbour is the ennemy. Always.

Découvrir une nouvelle rue. Des commerçants. Des sens de circulation.

There'll be a new street to discover. Shops. Traffic.

J'ai déjà habité au dessus d'un lavomatic. C'est pratique.

I once lived over a laundromat. That's convenient.

Et j'ai habité au dessus d'une boulangerie. C'est pas mal non plus.

And I lived over a bakery. That's not bad either.

Et j'ai habité au dessus de prostituées. (En fait au dessus d'un porche où elles "exerçaient"). Ca ne m'a pas servi à grand chose.

And I lived over prostitutes. (Well in fact, over the porch were they did
their job). That was of no use to me.

Et j'ai habité au dessus d'une pharmacie. Ca a pu dépanner une fois ou deux. (non, pas pour acheter des capotes pour aller aux putes susmentionnées, j'ai dit que celles là je n'avais rien fait avec)

And I lived over a drugstore. It may have been useful once or twice. (and
no, I did not go there to buy condoms so I could go see the afore mentionned
prostitutes, I said I never did anything with them)

D'ailleurs je n'ai jamais rien fait avec aucune pute voyons!

And besides, I never did anything with any prostitute! Come on!

Et j'ai habité à la campagne. Tu peux hurler, personne ne t'entends.

And I lived in the countryside. You can yell and no one hears you.

Et j'ai habité à Paris 18ème. Tu peux hurler personne ne fais attention.

And I lived in Paris, in the 18th area. You can yell and no one
listens.

Et j'ai habité dans d'autres pays. Mais les voisins sont les même partout. Je l'ai d'ailleurs déjà dit.

And I lived in other countries. But the neighbours are the same
everywhere. I already said that.

Le voisin est un miroir hideux.

The neighbour is a hideous mirror.

Sauf s'il fait des crêpes, là c'est un voisin sympa.

Except if he cooks « crêpes”, then this some nice
neighbour.

Ou bien c'est moi. Enchanté...

Or this is myself. Nice to meet you…

Et donc je déménage encore une fois.

So I’m moving once again.

J'aime bien.

I kind of like it.
